Where was I when this topic was discussed? I don’t know if I will be answering the question or not but I am just responding from reading the comments…
Yazi W… in my many years of learning about love. I have only found my lesson on the subject most recently. Please bear with me as I will have to quote one or two scriptures in bringing my point across.
In the beginning. God created Adam and animals first. And when He could not find a suitable partner for him, He created Eve as the suitable helper for Adam. Also, another scripture in Proverbs says “He who FINDS a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour with God.
With these two scriptures and my experience. I gather that God made the man first. And it is the man who is to find this woman and for those who are Christians God will be the source. The man is given the purpose (Genesis 2: 15 & 20). Adam was given the purpose for the couple and God had to find him a partner that would be able to help him live and fulfil that purpose. This is when after creating the animals, he was still unable to find him one and therefore created Eve, taking her from Adam’s body which made Eve part of Adam.
You know that you and I have had some hectic talks on this subject on a more personal basis. And the lesson that I have painfully learnt is that no matter how much a woman may think and believe she loves a man, there’s nothing she can do to make that man love them back. First, because they probably don’t feel the same way. Second, they fit in their plan in that they don’t have the qualities they need in order to be the suitable helper for the man. Thirdly, the timing is just wrong either the man is busy at the time with his own relationship or just doesn’t want to be in one. Lastly, men are the ones who should look for and FIND the woman and not us looking to find the men. Eve was taken from Adam’s rib and not the other way around. Adam has to look for his rib to complete himself.
Each and every person has their purpose for being on this earth. They have their God given purpose, they have their own plans and goals. Also, each couple that gets married has a purpose and that purpose is deposited in the man, that he may look for and find the perfect partner to help him bring it to fulfilment. I have my own purpose and in my looking to find a partner, I have been looking for a man who will support my vision and purpose which is what I saw as my family’s purpose. But I have been falling for men who had everything I wanted in a man except shared my vision. I was willing to compromise it for the sake of love but that would have meant losing a part of me in trying to gain a man. So I decided to just let go and start being a woman and wait for the man to find me. And I tell you, when he did… it was the most incredible feeling. I wish I could explain it but I can’t. When a man comes to you, and he shares his own vision, his dream with you and (he) places you in it to do exactly what you have been dreaming to do and the vision that you had becomes part of his bigger vision; you just know that he is the one and you not only connect emotionally, but also mentally and spiritually and at the right time you will surely connect physically. I know it sounds like a fairy-tale but it happens when you wait. And if you believe in praying, pray that you are ready to be found by the man who’s helper you were meant to be…
Genesis 2 18 Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.
19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every [wild] beast and living creature of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was its name.
20 And Adam gave names to all the livestock and to the birds of the air and to every [wild] beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a helper meet (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his side and closed up the [place with] flesh.
22 And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23 Then Adam said, This [creature] is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of a man.
Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a [true] wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.
